I was harassed by the gender critical movement.

I had an interesting experience on X over the weekend. Some of the trans women I follow on X have been relentlessly harassed, having their photos shared and pubicly criticised with the awful hashtag of #blokeinawig. There was one particular ringleader, with her followers then reposting her tweets. One trans woman I follow was harassed whilst in hospital, because she had posted that she was rightly placed on a female ward- as per the NHS Single Sex Accommodation guidance, Annex B.

Like many others assigned female at birth, I was then caught in the crossfire and found myself subject to the “bloke in a wig” trope. This is from those who claim they can “always tell” who is a “biological woman”. Hmm. It was pretty horrible but I got off lightly compared to my trans friends who face this fairly consistently.

I wrote about this on medium in more detail.
